Gripping stories and an infectious soundtrack bring Drop The Beat to life. Set inside the world of campus radio and hip-hop culture, Drop The Beat follows the adventures of Straight Up’s Jeff (Mark Taylor) and Dennis (Merwin Mondesir) as they produce their first radio show. Joined each night in the studio by talented DJ Craft and MC Divine (played by real-life hip-hop artist Shamann and Michee Mee, who embarked on a cross-country tour after shooting wrapped for the show’s debut season), the two friends combine their rants about life with the latest hip-hop sounds. But, as they discover time and again, the studio provides only a temporary refuge at best from life’s challenges.
